Adjusting by Feel

Learn how to skillfully adjust students while tuning into the most important elements of safety and efficiency.

In this workshop Jodi will teach you some of the most important and effective adjustments for yoga students. There will be discussion about the purpose of adjustments and how to make sure any assist you give is grounded, safe and effective. We will work on feeling our own bodies and synching up with partners to tap into our deeper intuition before laying our hands on a student. Jodi will teach you how to always give great adjustments by giving you a step by step process that will have your students feel supported.

Jodi has been practicing ashtanga yoga for 24 years and refining her teaching and assisting techniques for almost as long. She will share her stories and experiences about learning adjustments and her personal evolution as a teacher/adjuster.

This is an important workshop for anyone teaching yoga. Jodi is a firm believer that when we choose to touch our students we have to do it with great consciousness and that we have a responsibility as teachers to make sure that we are clear in our intention and not transferring our unresolved energies onto our students. This is a constant process.

Exploring Second Series with Jodi Blumstein: Part 1
July 22nd, 2017
10 am - 1pm, $60

The Intermediate series of Ashtanga yoga is called Nadi Sodhana, or the nerve cleansing sequence.

This first class will introduce the 2nd series in a general way, discussing when it is appropriate to explore the series, and the overall effect that this series has within the context of the Ashtanga System. This is a great class for any student of the primary series who is curious about what is next and also for students who have embarked on a second series practice to deepen their understanding of it.

Jodi began learning the second series in 1999 and spent more than a decade focusing primarily on this practice before really moving on. She will openly share her experiences and stories about her process.
